Microaggressions
Microaggressions are the seemingly small things that people say or do that can make others feel marginalized and excluded.
Microaggressions are every day, subtle, intentional or unintentional interactions or behaviors that communicate negative messages to people based on their membership in a marginalized group. These messages may target aspects of a person's identity such as race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, or disability status. Left unchecked, they can erode morale, hinder productivity, and contribute to a toxic work environment. Acknowledging and interrupting microaggressions enhances employee well-being and performance.
