The Challenge
This financial services firm sought to continue their learning journey by embedding DEI principles more deeply into the firm culture and extending these initiatives to their portfolio companies. After conducting two initial DEI workshops, the firm wanted to find ways to ensure that DEI practices were integrated at all levels.
How We Helped
Our engagement commenced with the development of a comprehensive 3-part series of DEI workshops, which were delivered to all Firm leaders and then cascaded throughout the firm. Following on this success, the workshop series was integrated into the onboarding process for all new employees and continues to be conducted multiple times annually. In the second year of our partnership, we extended our reach by conducting specialized workshops aimed at high-performing leaders identified by the firm, which are now conducted annually. Furthermore, we designed and facilitated bespoke workshops for the CEOs of the firm's portfolio companies, ensuring they were equipped to embed DEI principles within their respective companies. As a result, several portfolio companies opted to collaborate with VallotKarp, implementing their own DEI workshops for their entire workforce.
The Impact
As a direct outcome of our collaboration, the firm integrated "Conscious Inclusion" as a core competency, evaluating every leader annually through an "inclusion score" system. These scores serve as invaluable tools for pinpointing areas of potential enhancement. Furthermore, personalized coaching sessions were provided to leaders identified with lower Inclusion scores, facilitating targeted growth and linking DEI to professional development. Notably, the firm achieved company-wide gender parity within a year of its partnership with VallotKarp, underscoring the tangible results of our collective efforts.
